First we need a plan, and a concept. Sketching time...
Happy with that, time to crack on...
Didn't want to waste a lot of time drawing sprites/animations so I figured I could just as well reuse some of my graphics from Goldroids. They actually fitted nicely into this concept anyway :)
One evenings work later and I had a "proof of concept" going in Construct 3. Pretty straight forward - no fancy behaviors (so far).
One thing that always annoys me is that I always seem to start re-organizing my "code" half way through my projects. I suppose it's inevitable as I don't do enough planning before I start a new project. I'm getting a little bit better structuring the projects in Construct 3, using separate event sheets for different functions, but that's about it, unfortunately...
The other evening I sort of "re-started" the Color Globe project, aiming to possibly create an "oldskool" template for future game projects in the same effort. Progress is slow, as I try to think of everything and make the setup as flexible as possible. Not sure if I'm going full out on this template thing, but trying - at least - to make some sort of structure I can use further down the line.
I was fiddling with Game Loops and such the other night when I got fed up and wanted a C64 Swing Logo type of animation in Color Globe. I realized how sick and tired of the name Color Globe I was, so I scribbled down a few synonyms on a post it note and came up with the new - possible final - name for this game...
Vibrant Worlds
Needed a logo for my C64 Logo Swing Animation. Luckily there is the almighty C64 Logo Generator
Ended up with a few versions. A good starting point.
Loaded the latest 138-2 beta of Construct 2 in hope to try and master the new Timeline feature, but soon realized I felt much more in control using manual Tween behavior :)
There is a quick test of the C64 Logo Swing at the below link. Didn't really managed to finish the looping before I fell asleep at the keys, so the logos only swing a few times - for now :)
That'll be all for now, folks...
Oh, right, forgot... Here's the last beta version of Color Globe - for now...
